By all means you're more than welcome to add your own domain such as those registered via Byteact Domains, Name.com or other domain registrars.

The key thing that you must decide before adding your own domain name is, do you want it to point to an existing site on your account or, do you want it to be its own separate website complete with its own htdocs folder?

Separate Website

  • Login to your website control panel
  • Click on Addon Domains
  • Take note of the two nameservers you need to use at the bottom of the page (ns1.yourhost.com and ns2.yourhost.com)
  • Login to your domain registrar's control panel
  • Delete any existing nameservers on the domain you wish to use and put in the two nameservers from your website control panel
  • Save the changes to your domain
  • Go back to your website control panel under Addon Domains
  • Enter your domain name (without www.) into the box
  • Click on Create Domain

If your domain records have been updated by your registrar you will see a new folder under your FTP and File Manager with your domain name and inside of that folder, the htdocs folder for your site content to be published on that domain name.

Parked Domain

  • Login to your website control panel
  • Click on Parked Domains
  • Take note of the two nameservers listed at the bottom of the page (ns1.yourhost.com and ns2.yourhost.com)
  • Login to your registrar's control panel
  • Delete any existing nameservers on the domain you wish to use and put in the two from your website control panel
  • Save the changes to your domain
  • Go back to your website control panel
  • Click on Parked Domains
  • Enter your domain (without www.) into the box
  • Choose where you want the domain to point via the dropdown box
  • Click on Add Parked Domain

If your domain registrar's records have been updated you will now be able to type your domain into your browser and be directed to the location you parked the domain on.

Note
Domain changes can take anywhere from 24~72 hours to propagate throughout the Internet DNS infrastructure.
